Finished your work early? While you aren't allowed to play games or roam around the Internet freely, there are a number of fun things you can do. Feel free to do anything listed below or speak with your teacher about another topic that you might be interested exploring on your own.

Learning Websites to Explore

•  RoboZZle - A social puzzle game. Control the robot through increasingly difficult levels. Learn the basics of programming
• Light Bot - Artificial Intelligence is hard to program. Not every bot ever created can maneuver and function on its own. Rather, some bots run along a path that the programmer presets for them for various situations. Your job is to light up all the blue tiles in the factory by the commands you issue to Light-Bot 2
• Place the State - Use this interactive map to place the states in their correct location. If you make an error, it corrects you and shows the mileage between the actual location and where you dropped the state. 
• Save the Egg - Flash game to try to save the egg from the movie March of the Penguins.  
• Z-Type - Typing game. Quickly type the words on the bombs before they fall and destroy you. Normal and Expert mode. Great graphics and sound.
• Periodic Table of Videos - Developed by the professors at the University of Nottingham, this periodic table of elements contains a video for each element. Click the elements to watch the informative video about the element. YouTube videos.
• Mitoza -  Choose your own weird adventure. Select one of the two items on the side of a central image and create a strange adventure in the process.
• Physics Based Games - Online physics based games created in Flash. Lots of different games.
• iBuild App - Build your own iPhone, iPad, or iTouch app with this website.  
• Rocket Science 101 -Select your favorite NASA mission and build a rocket to send the spacecraft into orbit. As you take the RS challenge, you can learn more about thrilling missions and the various components of the launch vehicles, how they are configured and how they work together to successfully launch a NASA spacecraft. NASA’s Launch Services Program (LSP) does the same things for real rockets and exciting spacecraft missions every day.
• Gravity Launch -  Explore how the earth's and moon's gravity affects a rocket launched into space. From ScienceNetLinks.
• Engineering Interact - Explore science and engineering in interactive Flash games. 
• Code Avengers - Learn to code the fun way. Learn Javascript and/or HTML.
• TryEngineering - Sometimes the best way to understand what engineers do is to try your hand at it! On this site are links to several engineering games on the Internet to give you a first hand try at the problem solving skills engineers employ every day!
• Robo Rally - TO PLAY, SELECT "CLICK TO OPEN" ON THE LEFT, THEN SELECT EXAMPLES OF PLAY. FINALLY CLICK MINI RALLY TRAINING GROUND ON THE LOWER RIGHT. Robo Rally is a logic puzzle where you control a robot through a series of obstacles. It's a good example of simple robot programming.  
• CodeAcademy - Codecademy is the easiest way to learn how to code. It's interactive, fun, and you can share your progress with your friends.
• Interlocked - Wrap your mind around the next intensive puzzle game - Interlocked! A 3D puzzle game with a chilling atmosphere. You know those puzzles consisting of a few wooden blocks that are impossible take apart? Then you know Interlocked. Each level, you’re given a unique 3D puzzle consisting of blocks that hold each other together.
• Cargo Bridge (if this doesn't work, try Link 2 or Link 3 )- Build a bridge and test your consctruction skills. Help your workers to collect items located on the other side of valley.Also try Cargo Bridge 2 or Cargo Bridge X-Mas Edition or Cargo Bridge Armor Edition (if this doesn't work, try Link 2 or Link 3)
  Instructions:
• Build a bridge using your mouse and available budget. When it is done click "Test your bridge". Your workers will use it to get items located at the other side of valley, and bring them back to the shop. Your goal is to collect all items in level.
• For each level you have limited budget. The money that you don't use becomes your score, so cheaper bridge = higher score.
• There are two types of bridge elements: "walk" - workers can step on them, "connectors" - used only to connect elemets of the bridge, workers do not collide with them. * "Connector" elements are cheaper and lighter so use them as much as you can.
• At the beginning of game only wood elements of bridge are available. In further levels, aditional materials will be accessible also, so use them wisely.
• Engineering Interact is a great site to introduce engineering concepts. The site has 5 different games based on different science topics that give you a chance to learn while playing. The games cover concepts including: Light, Sound, Forces and Motion, Earth and Beyond, Electricity. There are also links to other resources about science and engineering.
• Wallace's Workshop - a physics puzzler that will well and truly test your noggin. Necessity is the mother of invention and apparently it's a necessity to get Crash-Test-Wallace from one end of a workshop into a waiting chute by inventing contraptions to help him get there. You'll use a variety of apparatus and mechanisms in your creations including balloons, motors, wheels and rockets. There's even dynamite!
• Incredibox is a neat website that allows you to create unique rhythms and sounds from drag-and-drop menu. You can experiment with different sound loops, choruses, and instrumental sounds to create your own unique sound loops.  To use Incredibox just head over to the website, select the English or French version, then start mixing sounds by dragging from the menu to the "people field." Every time you add a new sound a new person appears in the screen. Click a person to delete the sound he represents.
• Flabby Physics - Short and simple one button physics puzzle game. The goal is pretty obvious: move the ball to the star. The method for doing this is generally pretty obvious, too: use the [spacebar] to switch positions of the various on-screen blobs. Making the magic happen, though, will take some practice. 
• Zork I - III - Three classic free text adventure games from the early 1980s. Zork is a text adventure, which is a form of interactive fiction, like a cross between a novel and an RPG with some escape-the-room type puzzles thrown in. For more information, including hints and instructions, see the Zork page. It is highly recommended that you visit the Zork page first. Note: To type in commands, click the blue area at the bottom to the right of the white arrow.   
  
• Submachine 1 -  Try and escape the basement. To do this, you must click on doorways and ladders to move around and drag and drop inventory items to use them in key places. Everything is used to escape.
• CSI: Web Experience - Learn about the technology of forensics while solving three challenging crimes
• Fantastic Contraption - A fun online physics puzzle game where you build whimsical machines to solve each level.  
• CCL Winter Game - Your purpose is to use various parts available in your inventory to make the small box go from the begining point to the room's exit.
• PlanetInAction.com - Where the world is your playground. Google Earth is a detailed 3D view of our entire planet. Rather than just looking at it, why not play on it!
• BrainBashers - Massive and exciting collection of brain teasers, puzzles, riddles, games and optical illusions.
• Wordle - Wordle is a toy for generating “word clouds” from text that you provide. Instructions can be found here.
• GoAnimate - On GoAnimate you can make your own animated characters, direct your own cartoons and watch others' creations. It's easy, fun and free! For more information, including demos and tutorials, see our GoAnimate page.
• Game for Science - The first virtual world dedicated to science! Explore all kinds of virtual islands depending on your interests: health, aeronautics, genomics, environment, engineering and more. You’ll find fun games, interesting facts and fascinating photos and videos – all on a science theme.
• Cool Math 4 Kids -  An amusement park of math and more... designed for fun! 
• Goldburger To Go - The ZOOMers were challenged to design a machine that serves lunch to the ZOOM cast and crew. They've called it the Goldburger To Go, and they need your help to finish it.
• Samarost - An intriguing flash website where you are dropped in the middle of a strange new universe where they must solve a variety of challenging puzzles.  You play a character that you must help save from an asteroid collision.  There are no instructions on how to play the game; you simply use reasoning and deduction to solve the puzzles. 

Learning Applications to Explore

You can download these applications and install them on your computer. You will have to install them each day you want to play them because they will be wiped out at every startup, but they are lots of fun and educational as well.

•  Foldit  - Learn the science of protein folding. Foldit is a revolutionary new computer game enabling you to contribute to important scientific research. This page describes the science behind Foldit and how your playing can help. 
•  Kerbal Space Program - Kerbal Space Program is a multi-genre game where the players create their own space program. In KSP, you must build a space-worthy craft, capable of flying its crew out into space, without killing them. At your disposal is a collection of parts, which must be assembled to create a functional ship. Each part has its own function and will affect the way a ship flies (or doesn't). So strap yourself in, and get ready to try some Rocket Science!
