Stop Motion Photography

So what's the difference between Time Lapse Photography and Stop Motion Photography. Well, simply put, where the goal of time lapse photography was to speed up time to show the progression of something in a few minutes that actually took much longer, the objective of stop motion photography is to tell a complete story using objects such as clay, paper, legos, or other inanimate objects. The goal is to give them life in your video. The most popular example of stop motion photography is South Park, the Comedy Central cartoon show. Other examples include Mr. Bill, claymation, Gumby, Wallace and Gromit, and even old movies such as King Kong. The first example of stop motion video to be used in movies was done in 1897. This makes stop motion photography one of the oldest forms of animation in video.
